PB430/440/440T RAM UPGRADE INFORMATION

WARNING: Only authorized service personnel should upgrade the system. Anyone who wants to upgrade the system herself/himself should know about the dangers of ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) and the necessary precautions. Unknowingly zapping the components of the computer will void the warranty.

1. SPECIFICATIONS

SIMM speed must be 80ns or faster.

The SIMM's are 72-pin and can be x32 or x36. The motherboard design does not require parity checking, hence x32 SIMMs can be purchased (they are cheaper).

NOTE:

When two 32 MB SIMMS are installed, the SMT memory needs to be disabled. This is done by jumping J41 (On Board Memory Disable).
The system will not correctly recognize the total amount of memory if an 8MB SIMM module is installed at Bank 2.
